University women's club award and bruncheon

Earlier this summer I found out that my advisor nominated me for a graduate student award from the University of FL Women's club. This was a really nice gesture and I ended up winning one of the 5 awards, which also came with a very nice $1,000 check :)

I got to meet several ladies who were involved with the selection committee, and to chat with some of the other UWC members while sipping mimosas at the President's house. Yes, UF's President has his own house, and yes, it is quite fancy.

I also realized when they sent me this photo of me from the event that I am super crazy tan right now :P
