Rain rain rain!!!

Well, field work has been temporarily postponed due to the deluge of rain we've received here in North Central Florida this weekend thanks to tropical storm Debby! We got 9 inches at the Gainesville airport just yesterday and will probably get a few more tonight. Now my field sampling project depends entirely on where this storm moves to next...definitely a little frustrated right now! Thankfully my committee member and field expert Dr. Pine has been really positive about the situation and how we'll get it done when it can be done, so thanks to him for keeping me from being too much of a Debby Downer! (expect more of those puns if the storm continues on).

In the meantime, I'll probably be spending the week doing a few small things around the lab, maybe starting my fish experiment sooner than initially planned, watching soccer (after doing lots of hard work, of course), and getting ready for my new undergraduate who starts next Monday.

On a more positive note, my parents were able to come visit me this weekend. We got to eat at some great GNV restaurants, relaxed by the pool, did some shopping, spend a half day at the beach, and had a great time! Glad they had a chance to come down and visit me this summer :)

Keep your fingers crossed for good weather for the rest of this week!
